Aromatherapy
Using Essential Oils for
healing.
Like crystals and sounds, the energies in essential
oils are very compatible with our bodies and helping
them heal.
Essential oils are created by distilling plant materials
(seeds, roots, barks, flowers, and/or leaves) to extract
their active constituents. Liquid solvents (including
water) are very good at absorbing and storing the
medicinal and energetic properties of herbs and
plants.
Frequently the term “active
constituents” is used when people refer
solely to the medicinal properties of a
substance, but the energetic properties
of plants should also be considered as
active. Just like the medicinal properties
of a substance help to heal the physical body, the
energetic properties can help our energetic bodies
heal from mental and emotional distress.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using pure essential
oils, either individually or in an oil blend, to create a
specific flow in the energy within our body to aid in
healing. The great thing about essential oils is that
they help us to heal while providing a treat for our
olfactory sense ... most of them smell really nice!
Essential oils can be used either by inhaling their
scent (which helps the body heal on an energetic and
emotional level) or by adding them to a carrier oil
and applying to the skin (never use
undiluted essential oils on your
skin) for physical healing. The
energies of the plants that are
captured in the oils are also perfect
to use when working with energies.
When using essential oils during an energetic healing
session, I may ask that the client breathe in the scent
or I may apply it to my hands during the session to
add the energy of the plants to the energy passed to
the client during the session. In either case the
addition of the oils to a session adds a pleasant
element to the healing process.
