In addition to the energies crystals produce, our bodies respond well to sound energies. Sound waves produce specific vibrations in matter that they pass through and certain frequencies create vibrations that support healing. This is one of the reasons cats purr ... the frequency of the purr (40 Hz) has been proven to have pain relieving and healing effects.Singing bowls are a wonderful way to effect this healing with sound. Each bowl is tested to determine it’s specific note (and frequency) when it is created. Each note/frequency affects a unique part of the body, both on a physical and an energetic level. I have two sets of bowls available in my office allowing me to more closely match your body’s needs.I use Tibetan Singing Bowls in sessions as they have a mellower feel to them than the crystal bowls have. Each bowl is tuned to create a harmonious multi-toned “song” that aids the energetic healing process. If needed, one or more of my singing bowls will be incorporated into a session. The bowls I use are tuned to the pentatonic scale and correspond to the chakras:B = crown / 7th chakraA = third eye / 6th chakraG = throat / 5th chakraF = heart / 4th chakraE = solar plexus / 3rd chakraD = sacral / 2nd chakraC = root / 1st chakraUsing these bowls has an effect on the body similar to the chants used during some chakra meditations. The vibrations created in the body (both on an energetic level and physically) help to break up any blockages that are preventing the chakras from behaving as they should.I have used these bowls to aid in clearing the chakras as well as to add another level of healing to specific areas of the body during a session. The relaxation and comfort that the tones add to the healing session is nothing short of wonderful.I do have a set of crystal singing bowls in my office and after I’ve spent a bit more time playing around with those I have at home I do plan to start offering sound baths in my office … so stay tuned for that!
